Welcome
To Gamble Beach
Located near Flagler Beach and bordered
by the Atlantic Ocean andthe Inter- coastal Waterway, this 144-acre
park offers coastal camping, picnicking, swimming, fishing, and nature
study. The daily low tide is an ideal time to observe the shore birds
feeding in tidal ponds, and summer months bring sea turtles to lay
their eggs in the sand.
A seemingly endless breeze
wafts through the beachfront campground at Gamble Rogers State Recreation
Area. The site contains 34 campsites of which 24 accommodate RV's
up to 44 feet long. Each site has a picnic table, grill and fire
ring. The sun-washed campsites, composed of compressed coquina rock,
overlook the beach and provide almost immediate access to swimming
and fishing.
For respite from the sun at
the beach, a 20-minute nature trail nearthe park's entrance leads
through a coastal scrub habitat of low-lying magnolia, oak, cedar,
and sabal palms on the west side of the highway. The park also contains
a playground and boat launch.
